Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are custom-fitted, virtually transparent trays that fit snugly over your teeth. Each tray in the series is designed to move your teeth slightly further toward their final position, and you progress to the next tray in the sequence at set intervals.
Because they are removable, aligners can be taken out to eat, brush, and floss, but they generally need to be worn for around 20 to 22 hours a day to work as planned, which requires real consistency from the patient.
Clear aligners are not the right fit for every orthodontic case. Your orthodontist will assess whether your specific tooth movements and bite needs are well suited to aligners, braces, or a combination, and will walk you through what to expect if aligners are recommended.
